The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) has developed the RACGP Standards for general practices (5th Edition) and general practices are assessed against these standards.
Only accredited general practices can apply for the Australian Government Practice Incentive Program (PIP). More than 82% of general practices are accredited throughout the Darling Downs and West Moreton PHN.
PIP provides an alternative source of funding for general practices to help them to continuously improve, provide quality care, grow capacity, and improve patient access and health outcomes.
There are four independent organisations in Australia that provide accreditation. Learn more about accreditation agencies on the RACGP website.
