Intake and Assessment Officer

Location: Kingaroy

The Kingaroy Medicare Mental Health Centre, funded by Darling Downs and West Moreton PHN, provides inclusive, low-stigma access to mental health services, offering assessment, triage, warm referrals, and immediate support for individuals at various levels of need, including those in crisis.

About the Role
As the Intake & Assessment Officer, you’ll be the first point of contact for clients, building positive rapport to provide holistic, recovery-oriented care. You’ll screen, assess, and refer clients while working closely with clinical and operational staff to support the local community.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive assessments, including risk evaluations.
Facilitate care coordination and case review meetings.
Provide brief interventions and counselling.
Promote services at community events.
What You’ll Bring

Qualifications in health, social sciences, or related fields, or extensive mental health experience.
Experience in multidisciplinary teams and client care coordination.
Strong understanding of mental health challenges and recovery approaches.
Exceptional interpersonal skills.

Requirements

Current Blue Card or ability to obtain one.
