GPs in a Pod strikes a chord with local health professionals

September 29, 2024

Our first podcast – GPs in a Pod – is successfully reaching GPs with longer-form content about topics that matter to them and their patients.

Since its launch in April this year, GPs in a Pod has gone from strength to strength, with over 500 total listens, five-star ratings in Spotify and Apple Podcasts, and a place in the top 100 charts.

The podcast was conceived as a strategic initiative to connect with GPs and other health professionals with updates on topics that GPs might not otherwise be able to engage with outside of clinical practice or formal education.

Designed with busy GPs in mind, each episode runs for about 20 minutes, making it easy for health professionals to fit it into their schedules.

Each episode is hosted by Dr Tanusha Ramaloo, GPLO at Darling Downs and West Moreton PHN, and features an interview with an expert guest on various topics.

With fourteen episodes now live, the most listened-to topics have included digital health, women’s health and domestic and family violence. The podcast now serves as a library of interesting information, while also delivering a new episode every week.

Many more episodes are now in the works. The PHN has received a high level of interest from potential future guests from across our network.

GPs in a Pod is now an established source of trustworthy, interesting and reliable information for local GPs.
