Media Release: Health professionals connecting for better community health in the Darling Downs and West Moreton

Darling Downs and West Moreton PHN is once again connecting health professionals across the region with its local Health Professionals Meet and Greet events.

Supporting primary health care providers, including GPs and allied health professionals, is fundamental to the work undertaken by the PHN. Bringing health professionals together is an important part of improving the connectivity within the health care system, which in turn can improve the experience and health outcomes of patients.

The PHN’s Meet and Greet series offers the opportunity to connect in-person in multiple places across the region, including Goondiwindi, Warwick and Stanthorpe, Toowoomba, Lockyer Valley and Ipswich. Last year more than 360 health professionals attended the events.

Lucille Chalmers, CEO of Darling Downs and West Moreton PHN, sees this event series as a unique opportunity for local providers, and is keen to see as many local health professionals attend as possible.

“These events are a wonderful opportunity to connect with our health service providers and recognise the incredible work they do.” said Ms Chalmers.

“With recent changes to the way primary health providers can operate through the MyMedicare initiative, as well as evolving improvements in digital health solutions, these events are a chance to share information and learn from each other to ultimately improve the way health might be delivered to the local community.”
