Healthy Minds, Healthy Lives delivers Mental Health Innovation and Agriculture Showcase

The Mental Health Innovation and Agriculture Showcase was hosted in Ipswich on 24 September as part of the joint collaboration under the Healthy Minds, Healthy Lives Joint Regional Mental Health, Suicide Prevention and Alcohol and Other Drugs Plan.

The showcase brought together key stakeholders to discuss training, education, and strategic opportunities to better integrate mental health services in the agricultural community.

Key partners—Darling Downs Health, West Moreton Health, and Darling Downs and West Moreton Primary Health Network (PHN)—collaborated to highlight current mental health initiatives and resources available to the sector.

Queensland Mental Health Commissioner Ivan Frkovic was one of the guest speakers, sharing his insights and opportunities on the horizon.

Participants also explored ways to enhance coordination and integration across mental health services, ensuring that resources are accessible and tailored to the specific needs of the agricultural sector.

The showcase represents a significant step towards fostering healthier, more resilient agricultural communities, reinforcing the importance of mental health awareness and support in one of Australia’s most essential industries.
