Paediatric Post Sepsis Model of Care Report

Please join the Paediatric Sepsis Series – Post Sepsis Model of Care, virtual education brought to you by the Queensland Paediatric Sepsis Program (QPSP).

The QPSP has undertaken an extensive consultation process with consumers and health professionals from across the state to:

a) understand the needs of families following their child’s diagnosis of sepsis or following their child’s death due to sepsis, and

b) the key actions needed to sustainably provide post sepsis care for families (surviving and bereaved).

Survival from paediatric sepsis has increased, however, there remains a large gap in the understanding of paediatric sepsis survivorship or post sepsis care. In addition, for those who are bereaved due to sepsis, there is a significant gap in provision of any structured bereavement support. This session will summarise the findings of this research project, discuss the gaps and the actions for the development of a Paediatric Post Sepsis Model of Care for surviving and bereaved families.

We appreciate that the scheduled time will not suit everyone, however, we invite you to register and pre submit any questions you would like answered during the recorded session. You will then receive notification once the recording is available and you can watch ‘on demand’.
