Psychology and Physiotherapy, no longer ships in the night

Prof. Lorimer Moseley AO will be joined by Prof. Peter O'Sullivan and Prof. James McAuley on Pain Revolution's virtual couch for an insightful and thought provoking session.

Peter is a John Curtin Distinguished Professor at Curtin University’s School of Allied Health Sciences and a Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist. He is internationally recognized for his expertise in musculoskeletal pain disorders. Peter and his team developed cognitive functional therapy, a novel approach for managing disabling low back pain, proven effective in multiple clinical trials, including a landmark study in The Lancet. With over 350 published papers and more than 120 keynote presentations, he also consults at Bodylogic Physio Passionate about bridging research and practice, Peter empowers clinicians to deliver person-centered care for individuals in pain.

James is a psychologist, Professor in the School of Health Sciences, Faculty of Medicine and Health at UNSW and Senior Research Scientist at NeuRA. He completed his PhD at Brunel University in 2003. He held post-doctoral positions at the University of Sydney and the George Institute for Global Health before joining NeuRA in 2010, where he established the Centre for Pain IMPACT. James’ research combines experimental, clinical and translational methods to develop and test new interventions to manage low back pain. James has published >300 articles and holds over >$30M in research funding. He chairs the back pain group of SPHERE MSK, is part of ANZMUSC's Scientific Advisory Group, and founded the NSW network for pain PhD students.
