YES Survey Summary
Information for Primary Mental Health Care Providers
Our PHN is committed to ensuring the best possible patient experiences for people using the services we commission in our region. We are one of the first PHNs to use the 'Your Experience of Service' (YES) survey to better understand consumer experiences when using our commissioned mental health services. The survey is anonymous and participation is voluntary.
During March, we launched the first of these surveys to people who had used one of our mental health services within the last three months. A summary of the findings has just been released.
Of note, we found that 89% of people felt welcome, 83% felt their decision-making rights were respected and 80% felt safe in using mental health services. The survey summary also highlighted what aspects of service were best and where the experience could be improved.
The YES survey will be conducted every six months, and the collated information will be given to our service providers, to help them identify the aspects of services that are working well working and where there may be room for improvement.
